Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Sharly Chess ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

Description of Service

Sharly Chess provides a chess tournament management platform that enables:

  • Event and tournament creation and management
  • Player registration and payment processing
  • Tournament pairings and results management
  • Communication between organizers and participants

User Accounts

Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
  • One person per uesr account

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • Not share your account credentials
  • Maintain accurate account information

Organizer Responsibilities

Tournament organizers agree to:

  • Provide accurate event information
  • Comply with applicable chess federation rules
  • Handle participant data responsibly
  • Process refunds according to their stated policies
  • Respond to participant inquiries in a timely manner

Payment Terms

Platform Fees

  • The Platform is free for organizers to use
  • A platform fee is charged on paid registrations
  • Payment processing fees are charged by Stripe
  • Free events incur no fees

Payments and Refunds

  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe
  • Organizers receive funds directly (minus applicable fees)
  • Refund policies are set by individual event organizers
  • The Platform is not responsible for organizer refund decisions

Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  • Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Interfere with the Platform's operation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform
  • Upload malicious code or viruses
  • Scrape or harvest data from the Platform
  • Use the Platform to spam or harass others

Intellectual Property

Platform Content

The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Sharly Chess.

User Content

  • You retain ownership of content you upload
  • You grant us a license to use, display, and distribute your content as necessary to provide the service
  • You represent that you have the right to upload any content you submit

Data and Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect and use information as described in that policy.

Disclaimers

Service Availability

  • The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • We may modify or discontinue features at any time

Tournament Results

  • We are not responsible for the accuracy of tournament results
  • Organizers are responsible for their tournament data
  • We do not arbitrate disputes between organizers and participants

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the past 12 months
  • We are not liable for organizer actions or decisions

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sharly Chess from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Platform
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Extended inactivity
  • Any other reason at our discretion

You may delete your account at any time through the Platform settings.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by French law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of France.
